TMS CADCentre Supporting Future Engineers in Scotland

TMS CADCentre is pleased to offer our full support to Primary Engineer and the work they are doing within the Education Sector.

Primary Engineer is a not-for-profit organisation offering primary schools CPD and resources to support the delivery of design and make activities taught through practical Mathematics, Science and Design Technology activities.  The programme is designed to inspire and enthuse primary students and designed for all year groups mapped to the curriculum. All projects are linked to practising engineers to provide a real-world context to the project. The programme is intended to stimulate pupils’ interest in areas of engineering and encourage them to take an inquisitive approach in other STEM subjects. Programmes include teacher training, interactive and paper-based resources, local and regional competitions.

Following the successful launch of Primary Engineer in Scotland last year and the interest gained throughout, they are working with North Ayrshire Council with the aim of registering all Primary Schools in the region. A training session has been arranged for the 17th June to be held at:

Education Resource Centre, Greenwood Centre Dreghorn, Irvine, Ayrshire, KA11 4HJ

To raise the awareness of engineering and manufacturing in the region we are inviting engineers to attend the training session where they will gain a greater understanding of the programme and resources whilst working alongside the teachers on the practical tasks.

Following on from this we hope that the engineers will be able to visit the schools and work with the students in the practical activities.
This is also a great way to raise the awareness of engineer opportunities in the local communities whilst raising the profile of your organisation.  It can also be used as part of the apprenticeship and graduate development schemes.

To register your interest in participating at the training session or hear more about the programme and opportunities available please contact Christine James christine.james@primaryengineer.com
